They are the lowest index available, so it’s only recommended that this index is chosen for prescriptions with sphere powers up to +/- 3.00. They are a “no frills” lens offering no added features such as Scratch Resistance or Anti-Glare but are good for transforming any frame into sunglasses as well as when updating an old cherished pair. This lens is made from a type of optical plastic called CR39 making it fine for Full rim and Semi-rim frame types but not suitable for Rimless Sunglass frames which require a minimum of a 1.6 index lens. Available in a wide choice of tint colours all complete with UV400 protection.

We can also supply Blue-Light protection lenses, it’s an upgrade coating called “Blue-Light Protect” and we can apply it to most of our lens Anti-Glare lens options as an additional treatment. Blue/Violet light is produced naturally by the sun but also generated by computer monitors, smartphone screens and other digital devices. Even though it does have some beneficial effects, overexposure and too much blue/violet light at night especially can be harmful and lead to vision issues, eye strain and sleeping problems. Our Blue-Light Protect range of lenses have a multi-layer design that reduces glare and reflects blue/violet light away from the lens which helps to relieve long-term eye strain caused by modern day overuse of electronic devices. When you compare the two side by side the difference is noticeable so we have made the price for Transitions Signature very competitive so that for not a lot more money you can have a far superior Transition lens.
The Sun-X lens is available in Brown & Grey and is only manufactured in standard 1.5 index which means we can only recommend it for sphere powers of up to +/- 3.00 and not beyond.
